Ujung Kulon National Park

Ujung Kulon National Park situated on the most west end of Java mainland. This park bears a status of World heritage site in 1992. Being possibly the last home the endangered one horned rhinoceros, this national park is among the most important one in Indonesia. Refer to latest data, there are app 55 – 60 rhinoceros left in the park. Beside the rhinoceros, there are also another 34 species of mammals, 5 species of primates, 59 species of reptiles, 22 species of amphiby, 240 species of birds, 72 species of insects, 142 species of fishes, and 33 species of coral life. The park also the homes to 700 species of flora of which 57 species are considered as rare.

This trip provides you experiences of trekking through the virgin coastal tropical rain forest, stay overnight in the virgin forest, feel the peaceful touch of the nature, tracing and watch the animals in their habitat, but just remain relax. During the free time, you could enjoy swimming, snorkeling, or fishing on the crystal clear water of the park.

You do not need to worry about lodging and logistic, Indonesia EXPLORER team will prepare tent, daily meals, transport, and porter for your convenience. Most of the campground will be on the beautiful beach of Ujung Kulon National Park.

Most peoples dreaming of encountering the rhinoceros, they are really difficult to meet. But who knows if we will be the lucky one since we will be in their home.

Day 01: Arrival in Jakarta
meet with guide and continue flight to Jayapura Take off to Jayapura on 20:00.

Day 02: Arrival in Jayapura and continue flight to Wamena.
Arrive at Jayapura on 07:30 then flight to Wamena. Arrive Wamena, check in the Hotel.

Day 03: Rest in Wamena and check all gear make final preparation

Day 04: Wamena – Habema Lake – First Camp (Wamera Camp)
After breakfast, you are proceeding to Habema Lake (3,000 m asl) take about 2 hours drive and continue Trekking to Wamera Camp and will be about 3 – 4 hours up hill and down to the reach the First Camp (Wamera Camp 3,200 M ASL) and overnight here.

Day 05: Wamera Camp – Rock Cave.
After breakfast we continue trek up to Rock Camp. This will mostly climb up; the trek is about 6-7 hours. Reach the Rock Cave (3,800 m asl) overnight here.

Day 06: Rock Cave – High Camp.
After breakfast we continue trek up to Rock Camp. This will mostly climb up; the trek is about 2 hours. Reach the high camp (4,132 m asl) overnight here

Day 07: Summit Day
Early in the morning we bid for summit Mount Trikora, trek through the summit ridge. That will be 5-6 hours to the summit, start with 45M Wall scrambling. Climb on the ridge for 02 hour then finally 100 M technical climb / artificial climb before get the summit. Enjoy Summit moment then get down to High camp. Rest and overnight here.

Day 08: Extra Day for Bad Weather.

Day 09: High Camp – Wamera camp
westart in the morning after breakfast to Wamera Camp and will be about 6 – 7 hours downhill and little bit uphill to the reach the First Camp (Wamera Camp 3,200 M ASL) and overnight here.
Continue to Habema Lake, our car wait here and drive to Wamena. Arrive at Wamena
In the afternoon,

Day 10: Wamera camp – Habema Lake – Wamena
We start in the morning after breakfast to Habema lakes and takes around 4 hours trekking mostly up hill and continue 1 and half hour to Wamena by Car.

Day 11: Wamena – Jayapura – Jakarta – End Of Service
Flight by the 1st flight to Jayapura at 07.00 and arrive at 07.45 and continue flight to Jakarta.

The above itinerary is only guiding lines and we have to be flexible on trip duration. Please reserve some extra days in case of bad weather which can cause us to extend our stay in BC for summit day or delay Off flight departure.
